Access to projects and folders
Access is always all or nothing here. Anyone who can see a project can open, edit, rename, move and delete it. There is no view-only level.
Three levels#
Restricting#
- Click “Zugriff” (access) in the tile’s menu.
- Turn on “Nur für ausgewählte Personen” (selected people only).
- Tick the people who may get in. With a long list, the search field above helps.
- Save.
You yourself and whoever created the project always stay on the list. Otherwise nobody could reach this dialog any more.
If you switch the restriction off again and save, the project explicitly applies to the whole organization, no longer following its folder.
Folders#
A folder can be restricted the same way. Its tile then says “Eingeschränkt” (restricted). Projects inside that have no setting of their own follow it. A project with its own restriction keeps its own list.
Who may change access#
Owners and admins of the organization, and the person who created the project or folder. Everyone else is turned down when saving.
Heads up
Roles do not open doors. Owners and admins, too, only see a restricted project if they are on its list.
When deleting#
Deleting a restricted folder moves its projects to the top level. They keep exactly the group of people the folder had. Deleting never makes anything visible to everyone all of a sudden.
